General Cardiologist Allina Health's Minneapolis Heart Institute of Baxter and Crosby MN has a general cardiologist position available.
The Minneapolis Heart Institute (MHI) was established in 1981 to help prevent and combat the universal problem of heart disease.
MHI is based out of Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

This general cardiology position is for MHI's northern tier sites in Baxter and Crosby MN.
Nestled in the center of the state, this area boasts small-town charm set along some of the most popular lakes in MN.
Known for it's first-class resorts and hotels, golf courses, biking trails, shopping, and more, the Brainerd Lakes Area has something for everyone.

The Baxter and Crosby MHI clinics have some of the highest patient satisfaction scores in the state.
The clinical support team ensures a positive experience, ensuring the patient leaves feeling educated and confident with their care plan.
The candidate would join our local general cardiology group, participating in the ambulatory clinic setting as well as providing inpatient consultative service for local hospitals.
The candidate will have the opportunity to read cardiac echo, cardiac nuclear studies, and cardiac CT.
Cardioversions and TEE's will also be performed by the candidate.
Position Details:
oWork as a team in a clinical setting with other cardiologists and APPoRound on inpatients at local hospitals oSee patients in the Baxter and Crosby locations, as well as outreach locations in Aitkin and Staples.
oReview patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
oEvaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
oProvide education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
oWork collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
oPractice in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
oManages complex cardiac conditions such as heart attacks, and life-threatening, abnormal heartbeat rhythms.
oManages diseases of the heart and blood vessels.
oInterpret cardiac imaging studies including echo, stress echo, and cardiac nuclear studiesoInterpret cardiac monitors and EKG'soPerform cardioversions and transesophageal echosoSupervise stress tests and cardiac CToChart in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
oActively participate in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.

Job Description:
Principle ResponsibilitiesDirect Patient Care.
Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.

Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.

May provide care in an ambulatory clinic, inpatient or outpatient hospital setting.
May participate in on-call rotation.
Quality.
Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows.
May participate in peer review and quality assurance.

Job Requirements Doctoral/Ph.
D.
level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine required required.
Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Internal Medicine or foreign equivalency training required.
Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship and training program in Cardiovascular Disease or foreign equivalent training required.
Demonstrated experience in non-invasive cardiology required.
Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire.
ACLS/BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required upon hire.
Board Certification or Board Eligibility by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a certificate of special qualification in cardiovascular disease, or in Cardiology by the AOA Board of Internal Medicine upon hire required.
Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a certificate of special qualification in echocardiography for practices including performing echocardiography along with cardiac imaging upon hire required and Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required.
Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire required.
National Provider Identifier upon hire required.
